Lecturer: Dr. Arash Naraghi

In this lecture, Arash Naraghi, Professor of philosophy and religion at Moravian College, will discuss on democracy and ethnic groups. Violence against religious and ethnic minorities and role of democracy to resolve this problem are the main topics of his lectures.

Dr. Arash Naraghi is the chief academic officer of the Nonviolent Initiative for Democracy (NID). Arash Naraghi received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from Tehran University (1991), and his MA and second Ph.D. in philosophy (focusing on philosophy of religion and ethics) from University of California, Santa Barbara (2008).  He was a member of editorial board of Kiyan (Persian Journal of Theological and Philosophical Studies published in Iran) from 1992 to 2001.   His most recent publications include Ethics of Human Rights (Negahe Moaser, Tehran, 2010), The Soul’s Mirror : On Rumi’s Life and Ideas (Negahe Moaser, Tehran, 2010).  He is currently an assistant professor of philosophy and religion at Moravian College, PA.
