(English) March 10th 5:00- 7:00PM Lecture by: Dr. Ziba Mir-Hosseini The celebration of the international women's day, Nonviolent Initiative for Democracy present a lecture on "the politics of gender and democracy in Iran: Between rights and honor by Dr. Ziba Mir-Hosseini. Since the 1979 Revolution, Iranian politics has conventionally been viewed as a polarized conflict between ‘secular’ and ‘Islamic’ ideologies. She argue that this view has masked the real battle, which has been between despotism and patriarchy, on the one hand, and democracy and feminism, on the other.

جمعه 14 اکتبر ساعت 6.30 دکتر آرش نراقی استاد فلسفه، اخلاق و مذهب روز جمعه 14 اکتبر در دانشگاه بوستون، یک سخنرانی خواهد داشت با عنوان "دموکراسی و حقوق اقلیت ها". این سخنرانی به میزبانی موسسه خشونت پرهیزی برای دموکراسی و سازمان دانشجویان ایرانی دانشگاه بوستون برگزار می شود. دکتر آرش نراقی استاد کالج موروین در ایالت نیوجرسی امریکا و عضو هیات مدیره موسسه خشونت پرهیزی برای دموکراسی است. او در رشته فلسفه و از دانشگاه کالیفرنیا دکترا گرفته است. او پیش از این یکی از اعضای مجله کیان بود که به حلقه کیان معروفاست. دکتر نراقی بعنوان یکی از روشنفکران دینی شناخته می شود از او مقالات متعددی تاکنون به رشته تحریر درآمده است
